In continuing with our color exploration I wanted the children to explore mixing, without being concerned about using the colors, or creating a finished product (a painting). I offered them glass dishes (thrift store finds)- some empty, some with yellow “paint” and some with blue “paint”, and some pipettes.
The rest was up to the children.
They worked so carefully (and quietly). It was amazing to see them so focused.
It was wonderful seeing the colors slowly blend in the dishes.
The paint” we used was simply a mix of liquid watercolor (about 4 drops) in about 1/2 cup of water. It cleaned up nicely and didn’t stain.
